I’m loving the return of low rise jeans. These aren’t crazy low, and all necessary parts remain covered even when bending over or sitting down. I’m at an age, where I thought I was too old (in my 30s back then) to wear low rise jeans in the early 2000s, and now IDGAF lol! We do what we want, when we want, right? 😄

In 1983, Flashdance made me want to look casually cool in an oversized slouchy sweatshirt, draped perfectly down one shoulder. But I didn’t as a 15 year old, and haven’t done it since. I always felt too exposed and like I had to really pay attention to make sure the sweatshirt didn’t slip the wrong way lol. Now, with one-shoulder tops everywhere, and smart fabrics that stretch and drape better, I can’t stop! I’m a MANIAC—one shoulder! two shoulders!

I’ve been gray haired for almost 20 years. For a lot of that time, I stuck to wearing black, white, or gray clothing. I felt it looked “put together,” and as if having gray hair was an aesthetic choice lol. Now, at 59, I wear more colors but I’m still not used to it. I somehow have the identical dress in two different denim washes. Which looks better overall?

I’m attending an early evening reception at an art gallery. The crowd will mostly be older, around my age 🙃 (50s and 60s), and fairly eclectic. I’ll likely be standing the whole time. Both outfits are comfortable. I’m deciding between two outfits (two pics of each). Which do you think?

These pieces are labeled as workwear. The pants feel great and are comfortable enough to even nap in lol (believe me, at my age I do). For the top, the pros are that it has forgiving ruching and an actual effective built-in bra; the con is that it feels too revealing for work, even with a blazer or cardigan. I’m 59 and feel like the top is a nonstarter for work (lawyer and professor). I’d wear it out in the evening. But I’m wondering is this something that would fly in your workplace?
EDIT: Ok, kind internet helpers, I think we’re almost all in agreement that this “work tank top” is not going to cut it in most workplaces. You’ve convinced me I’m not just prudish boomer. So, real question: are you comfortable with this neckline in any situation?
EDIT 2: I appreciate the replies and have found it interesting to consider the broad range of work culture and job settings. In some contexts this would be considered a “work top.” Typically not in many office settings, education, and healthcare (to name just a few), but in other industries (some hospitality, entertainment, or fashion settings) it could be work appropriate. Thanks for the insightful comments.

EDIT: Thank you for the well wishes, kind comments, and sage advice. To answer a couple common questions, the dress is Blush & Day. It’s linen and lined. The jumpsuit is Angie and is rayon. Both are size S, and I’m 5’4” and 118 pounds. For the skincare and workout routine questions I’ll make another post elsewhere.
(I’ll wear the dress during the day and the jumpsuit during the evening another time 🙂)

This week I complete another revolution around the sun. Which of these two outfits for a midweek late lunch with a few friends? Patio seating on the riverwalk in Chicago. I’ll be slathered in sunscreen and maybe also wearing a big hat (it’s hot here!). Both outfits have pockets and are equally comfortable.
