    After weeks of crafting, I finally finished my Roaring Knight cosplay!
    This was such a fun journey, specially considering I'm not a very well versed person when it comes to cosplay making. However I think it turned out pretty cool! There is one piece missing, the visor, which Im planning to cover with perfurated vinyl. I ordered some but it will take a while to arrive. That's what i get for living in bumfuck nowhere 🫩.
    Here's my overall experience of the process, with all the tutorials I used at the end:
    Materials.
    Cardboard;
    Paper Packaging Tape;
    Superglue;
    Metallic Black Spray Paint;
    Black Elastic bands;
    Velcro straps;
    White acrylic paint;
    Sturdy plastic tube;
    Perfurated vinyl*
    *that has not arrived and I havent used yet, but Im planning on it.
    The way I made the pieces was: make the base in cardboard, cover the entire thing in packaging tape, spray paint and then add any details necessary.
    Helmet.
    I found making the helmet wasnt that bad. It took me the longest, true, but that's because I didn't follow a specific pattern and kind of made it up as I went. All the sharp angles made it easy to cut up and glue. The antlers were also pretty easy to make, a rolled up piece of cardboard with triagles on the side. I didnt make the three tips of the antlers entirely of cardboard, I cut out the top and bottom and then covered the sides with tape. Gave it a smoother look. I cut out two holes on the side of the helmet so I could glue them better. Painting was a little annoying because I had to make sure the paint stayed in every nook and cranny, but I think it turned out okay.
    The hardest part was actually securing it on my head. I ended up using two strands of wool to tie it under my neck, but really anything else would work. The visibility is kind of ass. You can only see straight ahead and a little on the sides, and you cannot look down without turning your entire head. As I mentioned, I still havent gotten the vinyl for the visor, so I tried what I did for my Hornet cosplay, using some old white, semi-transparent tights. However. The visibility goes from "not ideal" to "shit from ass". It works if you really can't get anything else, but still.
    Chestplate.
    I struggled a lot with the chestplate, and ended up heavily relying on patterns and tutorials, although most of the tutorials I saw were for EVA foam, not cardboard. Also fitting it was a little tough, because I ended up making the head hole just a little too small, so its kind of annoying putting it on and taking it off.
    The hardest part were the pauldrons. They. Would. Just. Not. Hold! No matter how much tape I used they would always pop right back up. I had to go buy some superglue to make sure they stayed, and even then it was tough.
    Another thing that was annoying was figuring out how to close it on the sides. I ended up using some cardboard and velcro straps for that effect but honestly... I dont think it ended up that secure. Its also really restrictive you cant really move your arms in front of you.
    Painting it was easy tho. I hanged it up on the ceiling and sprayed away lol.
    Gauntlets.
    Gauntlets were as easy as cutting out a pattern and making it. The og pattern was a little more complex, but I just removed some parts so it fit my needs. After painting it black I used white acrylic paint to draw the two circles.
    Leg armor.
    I will be the first to admit that I really got lazy for the leg armor. Its just two squares and two triangles with elastic bands on the back. But I was super tired by this point, I just wanted to be done with this cosplay. Painting was also easy on the account that these are just shapes. Yay.
    The Black Knife (sword).
    I cut the base out of cardboard and then used a plastic tube for the handle, so the thinner part wouldn't bend. I had it lying around in my garage, but anything that is a tube and decently sturdy would work. Painting was also a breeze. Do one side, wait for it to dry, flip, do the other.
