I couldn't resist to show my version of Jadis battle outfit. I love to repurpose materials and for Jadis I used an bridesmade dress as the petticoat which I altered to fit.
A suede vest was remade and coloured dark brown, the chain mail skirt is sewn from scratch in a mesh fabric. I painted it in different layers of grey, bronze, silver to make it look worn.
The "Aslan collar" took three tryouts, until I choose to base it on a round EVA which I formed to fit my shoulders. I then glued wig wefts in three different colours.
For the wig, I just attached ready made dreadlocks which can be removed in order to repurpose the wig if needed.
The crown took some trial and errors 😅 I started with a base of worbla and air clay, but that just ended with it being to heavy to wear. So after some inspiration from 'laurendoescosplay', I decided to create it in EVA which luckily played out well right away. I got the idea early to cover it with gold embossing? (sorry english isn't my native language 😅), and funny enough - so did Lauren 😅
I have never done any embossing before so it looked very rushed and messy but I used that imperfections and painted a layer of gold and the result turned out just great I'm my liking.
The ice-wand is 3d printed and let me tell you: sanding, priming and painting is not my favourite thing 😅 But I just had to get starting, and I used mod podge and sprayed painted bits of silver chrome, and for the details I tried 3d Akrylic paste which turned out really good. After I was done colouring, I thought something was missing so I added textured akrylic paint to make the endings look more "icy".
Jadis has been in my wishlist for some years now, and I made her debut last week at Närcon Summer in Sweden. I got a lot of positive complements and reactions, mostly from other "Narnians". It's not easy to be noticed amongst thousands of other cosplayers 😅 I had a friend that cosplayed Mr Tumnus for Walk on with me, and that felt pretty awesome. My next plan is to update some things, and for next year I think I'm going to continue with Jadis other outfits ☺️👑❄️
